My objective of research is to study theories of applied probability and stochastic processes, and use those knowledge for better life.
Research Activities
Since joining NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, Co) Laboratories in 1989, studying the measurement and estimation problem of teletraffic in the traffic research group. Target systems were public telephone network, ATM network, IP network...In 1995, as a visiting scholar, I spent one year in Industrial Engineering and Operation Research (IEOR) of UC Berkeley. During the year, I did research on modeling the auto-correlated stochastic processes and extremal processes with Prof. J. G. Shanthikumar (One of the top researchers in queueing theory) and Prof. R.W.. Wolff (famous for his legendary PASTA).
From 1999, I start academic carrier at University of Aizu as an assistant professor of performance evaluation lab. In 2003, I took a job of the associate professor at the sama lab. At University of Aizu, I enjoyed freedom of research and start studying various topics, such as computer viruses, cypher communication, quantum information processing, and even bioinformatics.
As of April 2005, I work for Graduate School of Accounting at Waseda University.
Starting from April 2007, I also appointed to be an associate professor at Department of Applied Mathematics for Waseda University.
